Dipped in Pink and Left to Sparkle, World Cancer Day 2019.
We started The Pink Table Project on World Cancer Day, February 4th 2016, to create awareness and raise funds for the PinkDrive cancer organization here in South Africa, and in 2017 we also took it to Lebanon to support the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon, but in 2018 we took a little break, because we knew that if we wanted to do this right, we needed time to work out a few snags.
BUT WE ARE BACK AND READY FOR 2019, and we’re excited, are you?!

This is what we are all about, our core focus, highlighting and celebrating the World’s Most Decadent & Delicious Healthier Pink Menus. This is what really excites us most and where we strive to prove that healthier eating is the new black, or at least the new cheat meal, the decadent craving that we don’t have to feel guilty about. This is where we prove, with complete validation, that Healthier Eating is not only exciting, relevant and insanely satisfying, but it is to become the new force to be reckoned with in the culinary industry. We’ll get chefs to prove that healthier food choices need not be boring because their creative perspectives will produce the new norm in gastronomic competitiveness…If we can do this, then we can finally prove that healthier living & eating is not only essential, but an exciting insatiable experience.
Pink Menu Select International is the cream of the crop of these Healthier Pink Menus’, celebrating the chefs & restaurants that take this theory and push to heights that even we weren’t prepared for.
We can’t wait to show what Chefs & Restaurants from all over the world have in store for you this World Cancer Day, watch this space and keep updated, it’ll blow your mind and your expectations.
We will be celebrating new additions to The Pink Menu Collection and The Pink Table Collection of Restaurants, weekly, if not daily, and giving you an opportunity to join us at secret locations revealed only hours before each event. We’ll reveal the city/town and the time of the event in advance, and let you know how and when to book, and maybe what the feature dish is, in case you’re Vegan & Jewish, and we’re serving pork, but the rest is secret, the restaurant & its menu are only disclosed on the night of the event, 2 hours before. That’s the fun part, we don’t want you to have an unfair advantage in your perspective, as we want you to experience everything as first hand as possible. But don’t you worry, it’ll be an experience you’ll remember, and we’ll prove that healthier eating is worth every moment of anticipation and suspense.
This is where we let the restaurants create their own moments, where we list their exclusive Pink Table events and charity fundraisers. We’ll release a weekly & monthly list of International Pink Table functions so that you can book in advance, even if you’re traveling. Our only requirement to restaurants is to MAKE IT HEALTHIER & SUPPORT OUR CANCER BENEFICIARY in your country, the rest is up to them. But we’ve set them a little big challenge, make their event exciting, showcase their healthier menu items or launch their newest seasonal Pink Menu, whilst supporting our charity in their country, and we’ll showcase their efforts to the world.
We’re trying to create a community of support and an experience to revel in at any given moment, but we are doing this with a purpose, creating awareness to just how yummy healthy can be.
Cancer is one of the Greatest Threats known to man, with over 14 Million new diagnosed cases each year, and a staggering 8.2 Million deaths worldwide, contributing to more than 13% of all global deaths.
By 2025, it is estimated that the Global Cancer Burden will reach 19m new diagnosed cases each year & more than 11m deaths…SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE!!!

As long as you are making conscious choices that support a healthier lifestyle, no matter how substantial they may be, then we believe you are heading in the right direction. If you are in the right direction, you are already winning. Healthy living and eating, when you are not used to it, is a really big change, and we naturally resist healthy because we believe that healthy is boring. And when we don’t have issues to deal with the likes of Cancer, we think, ‘Meh, I don’t have cancer, so why worry’. But the problem is that this thinking is what can ultimately increase the risk and severity of Cancer, and when we get to that point, for some us it’s already too late to start with healthier choices. The damage is done.
So we need to make healthy an exciting choice, one that we make in spite of our fears, not because of them, but if we throw EVERYTHING at you at once, and say this is what you must do, we will overwhelm and intimidate and provide a resistance to change.
We have decided to celebrate all steps in the right direction, any step that is healthier one is a good one, it may not the perfect step, or the biggest step, but it’s a good step, that might be followed by a 2nd step, and if we are lucky, a third followed but a butterfly effect of positive steps, ultimately making every step a healthy step.
All we ask our restaurants to do is highlight what’s healthier on their menu, and justify why it’s healthy, and as long as it’s not blatantly unhealthy and has solid health attributes, we will let them list it. Obviously we will advise them, but we are not dictating healthy, we want to restaurants to have carte blanche.
