CANCER ASSOCIATION NAMIBIA

WHO ARE WE?

The Cancer Association of Namibia is situated at 90 John Meinert Street in Windhoek, Namibia and our core focus is the create awareness on cancer in Namibia, fight cancer to the best of our abilities through various media available and in co-operation with our local Namibian communities, and assist cancer patients emotionally, physically and financially as best possible through their journey.

WHAT IS CANCER?

The “2016 – 2018 Cancer Awareness and Prevention Manual for the Republic of Namibia” as presented by the Cancer Association of Namibia through the guidance of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) falls under the World Cancer Prevention Campaign of the UICC. The aim is to put cancer on the global agenda and to scale up awareness of the fight against cancer, which in many counties, still takes a back seat to other public health priorities.

World Cancer Day on 04 February annually allows the Association the opportunity to raise public awareness through the media on a national level. During 2016 -2018 this will be an ongoing campaign throughout the year with awareness and education sessions in Namibian schools, community halls, the workplace and medical centres – every Namibian must be informed!
